Support Camp Charm City, the only diabetes day camp for children in Maryland hosted by the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. This five-day camp is designed to ensure that children with diabetes from across the Baltimore metropolitan area have access to a fun, safe, and supportive environment to learn and thrive while managing their diabetes. Camp Charm City is staffed by pediatric endocrinologists, diabetes educators, nurse nutritionists, and psychologists from the Children’s Center, and also provides an opportunity to engage teenage diabetes patients as Counselors-in-Training (CIT), serving as mentors to younger campers.
Our camp gives children a safe space to bond and learn from each other. They enjoy days filled with camp activities while learning to eat nutritious meals and manage their glucose levels. Best of all, they get to be among children and counselors who are just like them.
Gifts to support Camp Charm City help fund camp programming, resources, nutrition program, and financial aid to allow more families to attend.
