John Hundt is the Chief Administrative Officer of Surgical Services for Johns Hopkins. John began his role in surgery as the surgery functional unit administrator in January 2001 and has been responsible for both School of Medicine operations for the department of surgery and Johns Hopkins Hospital operations for the surgical sciences functional unit.
John has also dedicated his time to volunteering and mentoring in the Baltimore community. He is a board member and treasurer of HEBCAC, the Historic East Baltimore Community Action Coalition. He has mentored students at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, and he advises Johns Hopkins administrative fellows and other young administrators through the National Association of Health Service Executives, which promotes advancement and development of Black health care leaders.
The John Hundt award will support administrative fellows in the National Association of Health Service Executives as they rotate through Johns Hopkins.
